Lowell Dean “L. D.” Lewis, 88, of Pampa, died September 20, 2016 in Pampa. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2016, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Lewis was born February 18, 1928 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He attended school in Borger. L. D. was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, enlisting in 1945. He was stationed in various bases across the U. S., and was discharged in 1958. He married Barbara Ann Lewis in September of 1968 in Mineral Wells. She preceded him in death on January 21, 1999. L. D. had been a resident of Pampa since 1971, moving from Borger. He was a mechanic for Phillips Pipeline for 19 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a carpenter, building numerous houses in Borger and Pampa, including his current residence. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife around his home. Survivors include his son, Tim Lewis of Pampa; a brother, Adrian “Hoot” Lewis of Mena, Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Jamie Lewis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Tyler Lewis of Laverne, Oklahoma. L. D. was preceded in death by a brother, Dewayne Lewis; and a sister, Jennie Lou Gibson. Memorials may be made to the Thomas E.
