Mike Lance Shedeck, 69, of Dalhart, died September 21, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Pampa, with Rev. Lewis Ellis, retired Baptist minister, and Rev. Kyle Collins, associate pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Shedeck was born March 14, 1947 in Borger. He was reared in old Hansford and attended Spearman schools. He married Connie Gidley on September 6, 1968 in Perryton, and they just celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary. Mike had lived in the Pampa and Lefors area for over 20 years. For 17 years, he worked in the oilfield around Pampa. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF & AM, the Lefors Lions Club, and was the Republican Party precinct chairman for Lefors in the 1980’s and early 1990’s. In 1994, Mike started working for TDCJ, retiring in April 2014 after 20 years of service as a supervisor in the law library in the Dalhart Unit. He was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Connie Gidley Shedeck of Dalhart; a daughter, Michelle Osborn and husband Steve of Pampa; a sister, Vicki Wilson and husband Bill of Fritch; four grandchildren, Brenden Courtney, Allen Osborn, Holly Osborn and Kelly Osborn, all of Pampa; and a great granddaughter, Taryn Chumbley of Pampa. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Colleen Shedeck; a brother, Kurt Shedeck; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Michelle Courtney.
