Royce Gee, 78, of Pampa, died September 29, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with John Watson, chaplain of Amarillo Hospice of the Plains, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Gee was born December 13, 1937 in Kingsmill and graduated from Lefors High School in 1956. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, joining on September 14, 1961, and was discharged on September 15, 1963. After his time in the service, he returned to work in the oilfield. Royce worked all aspects of the business from roustabout to division manager for Operators, Inc. After 20 years, he came back to Pampa from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and started his own company, Consulting & Testing, Inc., retiring in 2008. Royce married Sherry Lumpkin on October 3, 2001 in Sayre, Oklahoma. The family would like to thank Linda Littlefield and staff members, John Watson, Jerimie, Leigh and Miranda of the Open Heart Home with Amarillo Hospice of the Plains, for their loving kindness and care of Royce, and to the Pampa Fire Department for the lift assist. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Gee of the home; two daughters, Phyllis Stafford and husband Tony of Ventura, California, and Tammy Gee of Edmond Oklahoma; two sons, Royce Arthur Gee, Jr., of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Tommy Gee of Edmond, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Angela Denton and husband Daryl of Alvord, and Melissa Harris and husband Scott of Pampa; a brother, Gene Gee of Pampa; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Open Heart Home, 508 N. Taylor, Amarillo, Texas 79107. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
