Darin Ross Russell, 49, of Pampa, died October 19, 2016 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Top O’ Texas Rodeo Arena with Matt Green of Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Russell was born January 20, 1967 in Pampa where he had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of White Deer High School in 1985. He graduated from Clarendon College in 1987 where he was an All-American in basketball. Darin also roped and showed cutting horses while attending college. He was an HSE coordinator at National Oilwell/Varco. Darin was a horseman and enjoyed coaching people. He loved his family and loved being with them. Survivors include his wife, Shelly Cannon Russell of Fritch; a son, Luke Russell of Skellytown; a daughter, Leah Russell and her family Rylee, Lillian, Kynlee and Kylee, all of Denton; his mother, LaQueta Russell of Borger; three stepdaughters, Callie Keys and Molly Keys, both of Borger, and Currie Cannon of Fritch; his brother, Matt Russell and wife Thema of Stinnett; his sister, Jolynne Slatton of Ardmore, Oklahoma; mother of Luke and Leah, Maurita Pleasant of Dallas; and special friends, Doak Elledge of Hoover, Lance Cross of Pampa, Richard Wells of Amarillo, Tyler Sweat of Argyle, Sawyer Sinclair of Mount Pleasant, and Paul Stanford of Durant, Oklahoma.
