Carol Maxine Smith Peet, 73, of Pampa, went home to be with her first love, Jesus Christ, on November 3, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church, with the Peet family and Carol Peet Ministries, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Peet was born April 23, 1943 in Garden City, Kansas. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1961, graduated from St. John’s College in Winfield, Kansas in 1963, and graduated from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska in 1965. Carol married Richard Peet on August 24, 1968 in Wichita Falls. She taught elementary school for six years, but left her teaching career to be a stay-at-home mom. For the past 25 years, she led Carol Peet Ministries, was involved in the Pampa Art Club, and was a member of the AFS Program. Carol was a published author, an artist of many mediums, and she loved being “Grandy” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her family to visit other family members. Carol was the rock for her brothers and sister as well as the Peet family, but most of all, she loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. Survivors include her husband, Judge Richard Peet of the home; three sons, Tory Peet and wife Jennifer of Miami, Tarin Peet and wife Emilee of Olathe, Kansas, and Tracy Peet and wife Kimberly of Pampa; one sister, Linda Risley and husband David of Pampa; four brothers, Randy Smith and wife Cynthia of St. Petersburg, Florida, Chuck Smith of Newton, Kirk Smith and wife Vonda of Frederick, Colorado, and Sky Smith and wife Tamera of Hillsdale, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Cherish Carol Peet, Destiny Peet, Greyson Peet, Trinity Peet, Tyler Peet, Madison Peet, Grace Peet, Callee Peet, Kyler Peet and Ellizabeth Carol Peet; numerous nieces and nephews; and two foreign exchange students who she loved as her own, Ove Fladberg of Norway and Pia Murto of Finland. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maxine Smith.
