Herman “Raye” Hall, 71, of Pampa, died November 11, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday 15, 2016 in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites courtesy of the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Hall was born on March 8, 1945 in Banner, Kentucky. He moved with his family to Skellytown at age of 9 and graduated from White Deer High School in 1963. He loved football and was on the White Deer Bucks team, and loved every minute of it. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Army for three years and was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division; he also served in the 9th Combat Battalion Unit. After his tour of duty, he moved to Springfield, Missouri to begin his career as a coast to coast truck driver. Mr. Hall moved to Pampa in 1987 to be closer to his family, and on April 2, 1988 he married Peggy Davis in Pampa. He loved his family very much, and after his retirement he enjoyed sitting in his recliner watching western movies on TV with his 3 dogs on his lap. Raye also enjoyed going to the café for coffee with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Estill and Bea Hall; sister, Glema; brother-in-law, Rex Pryor; and granddaughter, Amber Raye Hall. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Hall of the home; 4 daughters, Dawn Phillips and husband Joey of Clarksville, TN, Amy Jo Sloan of Florida, Bobbie Barnes of Arkansas, and Rita Barker of Skellytown; son, Kory Hall and wife Karen of Ozark, MO; brother, Dwayne Hall and wife Cindy of Skellytown; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
