Wilbur Lee Kemph,, 89, of Lefors, passed away on December 3, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with, Rev. Vondel Stevens, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and Dale West officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Kemph was born January 29, 1927 to Raymond and Dollie Kemph in Major County, Oklahoma. He married Betty Koons on March 30, 1945 in Ringwood, Oklahoma, moving to Lefors in 1987. For many years Wilbur was a cattle buyer at Panhandle Packing Plant in Pampa and also at Moody Farms, during this time he also did custom farming. He loved to hunt and watching OU football, he was an avid OU fan. He was a member of Top of Texas Masonic Lodge #1381 and was a 32nd degree mason. Wilbur loved to go "salvaging" as a hobby. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and has served as President of the Lefors Federal Credit Union for 24 years. He loved his family, his church, and having company over to his house. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ed Kemph. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; 2 daughters, Sharyl Darnall and husband Merv of Lefors, and Janeen Baumgardner and husband Carl of Amarillo; 3 sons, R.J. Kemph and wife Honey of Groom, Monte Kemph and wife Marie of Amarillo, and Doug Kemph and wife Cindy of Pampa; 13 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren on the way.
