Tom "Sonny" Teague

Tom “Sonny” Teague, 93, of Pampa, died December 20, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Matthew Jones, of Priest Park Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Teague was born March 31, 1923 in Granite, Oklahoma. As a young child, Tom’s mother passed away and shortly after, his father moved the family to Texas. He would eventually come to Pampa where he would attend Pampa schools, graduating from Pampa High School in 1942. After graduation, he met Anne Harper and they married on October 21, 1944. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2007 after 63 years of marriage. Tom worked for Celanese for 29 years as a mechanic, retiring in 1982. He was a lifelong cowboy and loved caring for his cattle and horses. He was a longtime member of Priest Park Church of God where he was very active and served as a finance clerk for several years. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include a son, Dale Teague and wife Diana of Pampa; a daughter, Sonya Everson and husband Kelly of Pampa; sister-in-law, Linda Wideman and husband Mark of Plainview; brother-in-law, Joel Harper and wife Margaret of Carlsbad, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Susan Teague of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; a very special friend, Delma Field of Pampa; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Sarah Teague; a son, Tommy Teague in 2013; a daughter, Cheryl Douthit in 2015; six brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be made to Priest Park Church of God, 731 N. Faulkner, Pampa, Texas 79065.
