Alice Leona (Dodson) Rhodes

Alice Leona (Dodson) Rhodes, 90, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 in Sallisaw. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2016 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Rhodes was born August 21, 1926 in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Dan Fullbright Dodson, Sr. and Annie Gladys (Hopis) Scribner. She was married to Arthur Alvin Rhodes on January 31, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1981. Mrs. Rhodes was a beautician at L and R Beauty Shop and a Protestant. Survivors include a daughter: Tana Meadows of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Misty and John Speir, Dulaney and Becky Meadows, and Kelli and Spencer Smith, all of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and Annie Barlow of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 8 great grandchildren, Brittan and Emily Speir, Alivia and Caden Meadows, Lexxi and David Barlow and Allye and Drake Collins; daughter in law, Donna Rhodes of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; sister in law: Edna Dodson of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Rhodes; her parents, Dan Fullbright Dodson, Sr. and Annie Gladys (Hopis) Scribner; and a brother, Dan Dodson.
