Mary Counts, 84, of Pampa, died January 2, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Captain Ben Walters of the Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will follow a Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Counts was born September 16, 1932 in Madill, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Madill High School, and moved to Pampa in 1956. She married Bill Counts on June 21, 1960 at Borger. He preceded her in death in 2003. Mary was a car hop for Caldwell’s Drive-In and a homemaker. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mary loved all needlework and gave her creations as gifts to others. She was active in the Salvation Army Home League. Survivors include two sons, Steven Ray Counts and Gregory Lee Counts, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Madeline Biggs and Margaret Fountain, both of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Dorothy Morrison of Madill, Oklahoma. Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie Turner, Dora Neighbors and Joyce Matney; and a brother, Tony Matney, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 701 S.
