O. C. Penn, 91, of Pampa, died January 3, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Mark Lang, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Penn was born February 25, 1925 in Cisco to Oscar and Rowena Penn. He played college football at Midwestern State where he received a Bachelor’s degree in education. He coached for several years in West Texas before beginning his career with Hughes Tool Company. In 1969, O. C. was honored as “Outstanding Salesman,” and retired in 1985 after 30 years of service. He married Marge Bilbrey on July 7, 1951 and had been a resident of Pampa since 1959. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and was a Mason. After retiring, O. C. was an avid golfer where he made many good friends. He loved spending time at the lake, taking his daughter Renee and her friends water skiing in the summers. But most of all, he loved spending time with Marge and Renee. Survivors include his wife, Marge Penn of the home; his daughter, Renee McNeely and husband Phil of Duncanville; a granddaughter, Kristin McNeely and fiancé Justin Myrick of Vidor; and twin great granddaughters, Grace and Makayla. O. C. was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 727 W. Browning, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
