Stephen Darryl Buchanan, 62, of Fort Worth, died December 31, 2016 in Fort Worth. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Steve was born September 1, 1954 in Dallas to William M. and Maxine Watts Buchanan. He was a 1972 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Southeastern University for one year. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his mother, Maxine Watts Morgan of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Elaine Morgan of New Braunfels; a niece, Courtney Morgan of New Braunfels; a cousin, David Watts of Salt Lake City, Utah, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William M. Buchanan; a brother, Gary Gene Buchanan; grandparents, Rev. Willis F. and Irene Watts; four uncles, Willis Fredrich Watts, Hunter C. Watts, Edwin A. Watts and Franklin Watts; and stepfather, Richard R. Morgan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cook Children’s Health Foundation, 801 7th Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa.
