Andrew Harle Cole Laury, 20 of Van Vleck, gained his heavenly wings on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Van Vleck. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church in Pampa, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Andrew was born June 13, 1996 in Borger. He attended schools in Pampa, Lefors, Callallen, and graduated from Van Vleck High School. He also attended Wharton Junior College and received an honorary degree. While in school, he played football, basketball and participated in FFA. Andrew loved his family and he enjoyed spending time with his friends. He had many hobbies including riding 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, hunting, building guns and going to the beach. Throughout Andrew’s battle with cancer, he was always smiling. He had a motto, “Cancer lives with me. I don’t live with cancer.” This kept Andrew going strong and fighting for another day. He always strived to do and be better, never settling. He always wanted to make his life better. Andrew was a true fighter, a warrior, and is our hero. Survivors include his parents, Shane and Anna Johnson of Van Vleck; two brothers, Trevor Collins and wife Cassie of Pampa, and Dusty Johnson of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; a sister, Ashlyn Johnson of Canyon; his grandmother, Maurine Helfer of Lefors; Godparents, Steve and Chris Stillwagon of Pampa; a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends he leaves behind. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harlen and Karen Belt. These were very important to Andrew and the ongoing support to help others. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa.
