Clara Mae Jones Hale Elliott, 81, of Pampa, died January 10, 2017 in Amarillo. Clara was born October 6, 1935 in Floydada where she attended school. After high school she married Ted Hale, the children’s father, in 1954. They moved to Adrian for several years. Later, she moved to Amarillo where she worked for SPS. She met Ron Elliott and they married August 31, 1996 in Amarillo. They lived in Amarillo for several years, moving to Pampa upon their retirement. Clara loved to dance. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She was an outgoing person who would talk to anyone, and was usually the center of attention. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Ron Elliott of the home; a son, Monty Hale and wife Sherry of Adrian; two daughters, Teddi Hale of Amarillo, and Tammi O’Neal and husband Collin of Keller; 2 sisters, Christine Perry of Amarillo, and Wanda Huckabee and husband James of Stephenville; five granddaughters, Holly Altman of Adrian, Karen Hale and husband Jeremy Furr of Dimmitt, Cami O’Neal and Chloe O’Neal, both of Keller, Chelsea O’Neal of Bryan; two grandsons, Jason Hale of Fritch, and Corbin O’Neal of Keller; and five great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Kaylie, Cooper, and Riley. Clara was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Helen Melton. The family asks that instead of memorials, do a kindness for someone in Clara's name.
