Lola Akemon, 52, of Pampa, died January 12, 2017 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Corey Searl of Frost Street Mission, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Lola was born September 3, 1964 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was a 1983 graduate of Wellington High School. After high school, she married Clifton Burrows. Lola moved to Pampa in 1992 and worked as a correctional officer at the TDCJ Jordan Unit for 20 years, retiring in 2012. She was an avid motorcycle rider with a couple of cross country trips, and a trip to Sturgis. Survivors include two sons, Aaron Burrows and wife Kellie of Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Dalton Burrows of Pampa; a sister Holly Akemon of Wellington; and five grandchildren. Lola was preceded in death by a sister, Kallie Akemon; and a brother, Garrett Akemon.
