William Sheridan "Mr. Bill" Frost

William Sheridan “Mr. Bill” Frost, 75, of Pampa, passed away January 14, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Briarwood Church with Rev. Dr. Jerry R. Lane, pastor of Community Crossroads Church of White Deer, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Bill was born on March 6, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to John and Ruby Frost. He attended schools in Endee, New Mexico, Happy, Texas, and West Texas State University before enlisting and serving in the Army National Guard for six years. He farmed in Carson and Gray Counties since 1964 and he retired from Cabot R & D in 2006 after 23 years of employment. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in White Deer for over 50 years. He served as past president of the White Deer Riding Club and was a big supporter of FFA and 4-H with an honorary Chapter Farmer Degree. Bill was a certified storm spotter and was referred by many as “Meteorologist Bill." Mr. Frost was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 for more than 40 years. He moved to White Deer in 1964 and has resided in Pampa since 1984. Bill was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed both water and snow skiing in his younger years. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, livestock shows, and Bill sat through many dance recitals in his day. He also loved Pampa Harvester Football and attending the games. He was so very proud of his title “Papa Bill” to his grandchildren and “Mr. Bill” to his friends. He had many other kids he loved and adored and called his own and many friends he cherished. Bill is survived by his three daughters, Christle Brown and husband Kevin of Panhandle, Charla Shults and husband Wendell, and Cherie Duke and John Forbes, all of Pampa; a stepdaughter, Janene Lucas of Pampa; two stepsons, Rick Kupcunas of Naples, Florida, and Chris Kupcunas of Grapevine; three brothers, Bob Frost and wife Jane of San Jon, NM, Len Frost and wife Vicki of Tucumcari, NM, and Ralph Frost and wife Susie of Happy; grandchildren, Kris Brown and Tia Mergelman of Panhandle, Kinsey Kiker and husband Matt of Allison, Madi Thompson and husband Schrade of Pampa, Blake Sark of Rhome, Casey Sark and Devan Cochran of Pampa, Janice Shults of Pampa; seven step-grandchildren and one step-great granddaughter and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Frost; his in laws Bill and Virgie Tuke, his wife Linda Frost, and the mother of his children, Dorothy Crain Pennington. He was also preceded by his precious dog of 17 years, Betty Boop. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Stephanie Harrah Mooney Scholarship Fund, PO Box 464, White Deer, Texas 79097 or St. Matthews Episcopal Day School Scholarship Fund, 727 West Browning Ave., Pampa, Texas 79065. In memory of Bill, who was a seven year post lung transplant recipient, please consider and support organ donation. Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
