She married her childhood sweetheart, Cairl McAnally on June 21, 1958 in Hutchison County. During their 58 years of marriage, they made their home in Pampa where they raised their family. Grandma loved keeping her grandchildren and writing stories, taking pictures and videos and produced a family newsletter to share her photos and keep everyone informed. She spent many weekends packing picnic lunches for the grandchildren and their friends for trips to the farm in Mobettie. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She worked for the church nursery and daycare. Marilyn also helped with the children's choir for numerous years. Before her health began to fail, she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir and looked forward to performances of the Living Christmas Tree. Marilyn enjoyed trading coupons, and most recently, following the grandkids on Instagram and Sunday monthly family dinners. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen O. and Ella Mae Tye. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Cairl McAnally; a son, Cairl McAnally, Jr. and wife Rosalea, of White Deer; a daughter, Connie Smith and husband Jim of Pampa; six grandchildren, Jessica Cook and husband Daniel of Skellytown, Melissa Whitaker and husband Jacob of Amarillo, Lindsey Tatum McBeth and husband Chris of Skellytown, Cameron McAnally and wife Lynsey of Morse, Casey McAnally and wife Lexi of Spearman, and Cuyler McAnally and girlfriend Jordan Pohnert of White Deer; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Cook, Kayla Cook and Kenzie Whitaker; one sister, Patricia Beene of Austin; and family friend, Harvey Watson of Amarillo.
