Dale Brown, 84, of Pampa, died January 24, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. J. C. Burt, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military honors courtesy of U. S. Army, Fort Hood, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Brown was born January 10, 1933 in Santa Fe, Oklahoma to Clarence and Jewel Brown. He attended Mountain Home schools and enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving in Korea from 1953-1954. Dale married Gloria Ely in 1957 in Duncan, Oklahoma, and they moved to Pampa in 1958. He worked for Rudy’s Automotive until he opened Dale’s Automotive in 1974, retiring in 1999. Dale enjoyed his retirement, going fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Newman; a brother, Jimmie Brown; and a grandson, Ziriax Nix. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Brown of the home; a daughter, Diane Jennings and husband Travis of Pampa; a son, Charles Nix, Sr; a grandson, Charles (Randy) Nix, Jr. and wife Chandra; two sisters, Patsy Wilson of Oklahoma, and Gayle Nelson and husband Byron of Pampa; a special adopted grandson, Kaydan Stidham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
