Roger Dale Alexander, 62 of Amarillo, died February 1, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor of First United Methodist Church, and John Curry, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites courtesy of the U. S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Alexander was born March 21, 1954 in Wheeler. He was a 1973 graduate of Pampa High School. Dale joined the U. S. Navy in 1977 and was a flight engineer until his discharge in 1994. He moved to Pampa later that year, working for National Oilwell. Dale moved to Amarillo in 2002, working for Lady Bug Pest Control, City of Amarillo and then the Veterans Administration. He was a master scuba instructor and an avid knife collector. Dale was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Chris Alexander of California; a stepdaughter, Dolores Concepcion of California; a stepson, Abelardo Mangune of the Philippines; his mother, Maudie Alexander of Lefors; his brother, Don Alexander and wife Beverly of Pampa; three stepsisters, Linda Bruton and husband Jim of Pampa, Sheila White of Amarillo, and Darla Ferguson of Keller; a stepbrother, James Taylor and wife Heidi of Canyon; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Alexander in 1969; and his father, Ralph Alexander in 2010. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration, 3414 E.
