Donna Mae Brunnier Burger, 84, of Pampa, found her place with the angels on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Pampa. Celebration of life services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Donna was born on September 4, 1932 in Amarillo to LaVerna and Grover Milton Brunnier. She graduated from Groom High School and married Dean H. Burger on June 7, 1948. They made their home for over 50 years on the Lazy 11 Ranch south of Pampa where they farmed and ranched. They were happily married for 64 years. Mrs. Burger was a member of the Brethren Church and also the First United Methodist Church in Pampa, and she was very active and a faithful servant to the Lord. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist Women, the 20th Century Cotillion Study Club, and the Pampa Chapter #65 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a volunteer at the Reach to Recovery for breast cancer survivors, was active in The Prayer Shawl Ministry and The Moon and Star Glass Club. Donna loved to cook and sew and was famous for her cinnamon rolls, noodles and sweet pickles. One of her callings from the Lord was caring for others and “her light” was always shining on those who were around her. Mrs. Burger is survived by her daughter, Connie L. Burger Fields of Groom; her son, Ken R. Burger and wife Lynn of Pampa; eight grandchildren: Melissa L. Fields and wife Delaune E. Radin of Spring, Scott C. Fields of Groom, Jeffery C. Fields and wife Aimee of Amarillo, Jolee Burger-Moore and husband Andy of McKinney, Kenzi Larson and husband Brandon of Dallas, Chris Burger and wife Emily of Groom, David C. Fields and Tessa Bilbrey of Claude, Wendy Cavalier and husband Andy of Canadian; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean H. Burger on February 27, 2013; and her sisters, Bernadine Stubblefield, Bernice Sadorris and Carolyn Luckenbach.
