Joe B. Hoard, 63, of Pampa, died February 6, 2017 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Joe was born January 31, 1954 in Big Spring. He attended Del Rio High School and Texas A&M University. He began his law enforcement career in Del Rio in 1973. Joe married Virginia Ann Catlin on July 21, 1979 in Huntsville. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2015. He worked for numerous law enforcement agencies in Texas, which included Mexia, Monahans, Castro County, Randall County, Potter County, Hemphill County, and was currently working for Gray County Sheriff’s Office. Joe loved collecting law enforcement patches. He loved his job and the community, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Hoard of Amarillo; a brother, Lloran Johnson and wife Sharon of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; a sister, Bonnie Ellen Cook of Houston; and two grandsons, Joseph Wayne Sullivan-Hill and Joshua Blake Sullivan-Hill. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Joe Ellen Hoard. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Joe’s visitation room will be available for guests to come by and sign the memorial book from 8:00 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 until 8:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
