Stephen Anton Urbanczyk, 66, of White Deer, died February 19, 2017 in White Deer. Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017, at First Baptist Church in White Deer, with Rev. Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in White Deer Cemetery with military rites courtesy of U.S. Army. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Urbanczyk was born February 21, 1950 in Pampa. He was a 1969 graduate of White Deer High School. After graduation, he served two years with the U. S. Army. Stephen married Pamela Stephens on September 21, 1979 in Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo. Stephen enjoyed golf, farming and ranching, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 20 years, and was very active in where he served as chairman of the building and grounds committee. Stephen began his career as a laborer with Excell Helium Plant in 1978, moving up the ranks to plant manager in 1992. In 2002 his position changed to safety and occupational health specialist in the Fillmore office and then several years later, he became the plant manager at the Cliffside Gasfields, where he worked up until the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Urbanczyk of the home; a daughter, Chelsea Jo Urbanczyk of Houston; a sister, Joan Baker of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Jay Urbanczyk and wife Anita of Pampa, and Jim Baker of California; two nieces, Tamara Anderson and Cassie Green; and two nephews, Shelby Stephens and Aaron Urbanczyk.
