Sylvia Lois Sanders

Sylvia Lois Sanders, 82, of Pampa, died February 26, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Erick Cemetery in Erick, Oklahoma under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Sanders was born August 30, 1934 in Loco. She married John Sanders on October 15, 1952 in Shamrock. They moved to Pampa in 1974 where they opened Sanders Sewing Center. John preceded her in death on April 4, 1988, and Sylvia closed the store and retired in 1997. After her retirement she managed rental properties for a time. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include two sons Johnnie Sanders and wife Janet and Kenneth Sanders, all of Pampa; a son-in-law, Gary Swinney of Pampa; a sister, Marie Porter of Norman, Oklahoma, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Sylvia was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Swinney in 2013.
