Martha L. Ellis

Martha L. Ellis, 87, of Pampa, died February 26, 2017 in Pampa. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Charlie Cemetery in Charlie, with Rev. Joel Osborne, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Ellis was born March 30, 1929 in Doniphan, White County, Arkansas, to Caddo G. and George W. Riggins. She was a lifelong Texas resident and a mother of 11 children, 35 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed music and reminiscing with family and friends. She was Pentecostal. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Ellis; and two sons, Jesse E. Smith and Joseph H. Smith. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Smith of Amarillo, Jackie Smith and David Dykes, both of Wichita Falls, and John Smith of Huntsville; three daughters, Mary Rider of Sandia, Alma Lewis of Pampa, and Gloria Green of Garland; 35 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
