Dub Swift, 74, of Pampa, died March 7, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 10, 2017, at Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Swift was born April 10, 1942 in Jacksboro. He was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1964 and discharged in December of 1965. He married Mary Lindner in 1968 in Liberal, Kansas. They moved to Pampa in 1971 from Garden City, Kansas, and lived in the area around the little red school house north of town. Dub worked for the Hayhook Ranch, BAD Cattle Company, Morrison Ranch and Carter Ranch. In 1992, he returned to driving cattle trucks and was working up until the time of his death. He was Mr. Christmas on the south side, hanging lights on anything that didn’t move. Dub was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Swift, of the home; two sons, Morris Swift of Pampa, and Bryan Swift and wife Jennifer of Bentley, Kansas; a daughter, Kelly Swift of Pampa; a sister, Wanda Childress of Briscoe; three brothers, Roy Swift and wife Jane and Glenn Swift and wife Kelly, all of Eastland, and Bob Swift and wife Zodell of Wheeler; six grandchildren, Marissa Swift of Canyon, Nikala Swift and Carlee Swift, both of Pampa, Jackson Swift, Greyson Swift and Emerson Swift, all of Bentley, Kansas; and a great granddaughter, Dallas Swift of Pampa. Dub was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Garret Swift in 2002.
