Jean Hendricks Comer, 83, of Pampa, died March 15, 2017 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Robert Reeve, Jean’s son-in-law and deacon of Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens, and Chris Comer, Jean’s son, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Jean was born November 10, 1933 in Pampa to Fred and Gladys Hendricks. She grew up in Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1952. Upon graduation, she attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, and Lindenwood College in St. Louis, Missouri  Jean married Harold L. Comer on September 16, 1955, and they had celebrated 61 years of marriage this last September. She had been a resident of Pampa for 60 years. She was active in her church, her children and grandchildren’s school activities, and offered her talents to anyone at any time. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church and was a current member of First Christian Church where she formerly taught kindergarten Sunday school. Survivors include her husband, Harold Comer of the home; two daughters, Carrie Hearon and husband Don of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Laurie Reeve and husband Robert of Eustace; a son, Chris Comer and wife Stacy of Midland; two granddaughters, Avery Reeve of Eustace, and Kennedi Comer of Midland; and five grandsons, Tyler Cunningham of Lubbock, Jordan Cunningham of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Tucker Reeve and Cooper Reeve, both of Eustace, and Jackson Comer of Midland. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice or a non-profit organization. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
