Frances J. Millican of Pampa, passed away Saturday evening March 25, 2017 in Pampa, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Millican was born November 12, 1931 in Moran to O. L. and Sarah Anderson. She was a 1947 graduate of Woodson High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She and Billie Mac Millican went to Jean, Texas and got married on April 1, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2014. She was a homemaker her entire life. Frances enjoyed 66 years of motherhood and 42 years of being “Granny.” Frances was a member of Central Baptist Church since 1967. She was a charter member of the Covenant Sunday school class, and a GA and RA sponsor. She was involved in her children’s activities, PTA, room mother, Boy Scout leader, little league baseball, football, basketball, volleyball and tennis. She enjoyed her grandchildren’s activities, watching sports and dance recitals; and great grandchildren’s activities, attending choir concerts and watching sporting events. Frances loved to travel to the Hill Country and San Antonio during the springtime to see the bluebonnets and wildflowers, and she also enjoyed traveling and shopping with the golf group and her church group. She square danced with the Calico Capers for many years. She was an avid cookbook reader. Frances was also preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Joe Mack Millican and wife Pam of Pampa; two daughters Marsha Elliott and husband William of Abilene, and Melinda Millican of Hurst; two granddaughters Jodi Etheredge and husband Chad of Pampa, and LeeAnn “Doodle” Zabloudil and husband Alan of Plano; and five great grandchildren, McKenna and Brenlie Etheredge of Pampa, and Lauren “Lolly,” Jake Alan III “Trip,” and Lila June Zabloudil all of Plano; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
