Jason Wood “Woody” Whatley, 45, of Pampa, passed away April 3, 2017 in Borger. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 7, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Whatley was born March 6, 1972 in Pampa. He was a graduate of Canyon High School and attended welding school. He worked for a short time as a roofer before beginning his career as a truck driver which he continued for many years. Woody enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard, and riding motorcycles. He was a great animal lover. He was a very artistic man who had a great appreciation for music and writing poetry. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include three sons, Houston Whatley of Houston, Codie Whatley and Andrew Whatley, both of Independence, Kansas; his father, Jim Whatley of Borger; a brother, Jeff Whatley and wife Angie of Lefors; a sister, Jana Whatley of Plainview; a grandson, Hunter Whatley of Pampa; five nieces, one nephew; and a host of great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Whatley; and his stepmother, Mary Whatley in 2014. Memorials may be made to PAWS, PO Box 2095, Pampa, Texas 79066-2095.
