Paul N. Brown, Jr., 76, of Tavares, Florida and formerly of Pampa, Texas, died April 4, 2017 in Tavares. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 10, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with John Curry, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Paul was born December 13, 1940 in Corsicana, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Pampa before moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nixa, Missouri, and Tavares, Florida. He was a 1959 graduate of Pampa High School, and received a B. S. degree in chemistry and math from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He married Marilyn Fite on February 22, 1964 in Pampa. Paul worked for B. J. Hughes Oilfield Services as a petroleum engineer and was vice president of Serfco when he lived in Pampa. He later owned and operated Enpower, Inc. in Oklahoma City, retiring in 2015. Paul did consulting work following his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pampa where he was also very active in civic affairs. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Brown of the home; two sons, David Brown and husband Mike Walton of Seattle, Washington, and Mark Brown and wife Ivy of Angleton; a daughter, Jane Calfy and husband Bryan of Eustis, Florida; a brother, John Brown and wife Carol of Orinda, California; a sister, Barbara Frazier and husband Gerald of Hernando, Mississippi; three grandsons, Walker Brown of Lubbock, Garrett Brown of Angleton and Connor Calfy of Eustis, Florida; two nephews, one niece; and several Hunter cousins and Sprague cousins.
