Nettie L. Cole, 96, of Pampa, passed away April 10, 2017 in Pampa. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cole was born September 13, 1920 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she moved to Texas where she lived in Borger, moving to Pampa in 1933. She was a 1938 graduate of Pampa High School. After graduation, she attended Business College. Nettie worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell, worked at Heard & Jones, Sands Fabric and Dunlaps. She married Nolan Cole on November 1, 1947 in Pampa. He preceded her in death in February of 1987. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, an active member of Pampa Senior Citizens and the VFW Auxiliary. Nettie was a hard working woman, who worked hardest at being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She was a God-fearing woman who loved the Lord with all her heart and she served Him and her family faithfully Survivors include two daughters, Linda Burt of Pampa, and Lodema Reed and husband Danny of Canadian; a son, Andy Cole of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Daphne Lucchesi of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Bessie Ann Christenson and husband John of Arlington; two grandsons, James Christopher Burt of Dalhart, and Jacob Dan Reed and wife Georgia of Wolfforth; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
