Mildred Lee Clendennen

January 3, 1921 — June 12, 2017

Mildred Lee Clendennen, 96, of Goodnight, the matriarch of five generations, flew home to be with The Lord on June 12, 2017 in Claude. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, with Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mildred was born to Channar and Essie Crawford in Elmer, Oklahoma on January 3, 1921.  She married to Woodrow Clendennen on October 17, 1936. They were married 63 beautiful years. Mildred believed in hard work, making an honest living, and always made sure her family was well fed. Her goal in life was to keep her family one loving, tight knit unit that could overcome any tragedy. She was the epitome of a caregiver. We have and will continue to commemorate her memory. Mildred is survived by daughter, Betty Owens of Goodnight, Texas; daughter-in-law, Judy Clendennen of Pampa, Texas; granddaughter, Connie Spiller and husband Glen of Claude, Texas; granddaughter, Cheryl Hand and husband Danny of Claude, Texas; grandson, Darrin Clendennen and wife Jody of Pampa, Texas; granddaughter, Misty Baten and husband Brent of Pampa, Texas; great grandchildren, Amanda and husband Clem, Rachel, Cassie, Hannah, Ty, Shay, Zackry, Amber, Riley, Channar, Kenzie, Keziah and husband Brandon, Destry, Clay, and Jacey; great great grandchildren, Trinity, Braya, Bentley, Kennedy, and Jake; along with other extended family. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Clendennen; sister, Joyce Meritt; brother, Garland Crawford; son, Doyle Clendennen; son-in-law, Merle Owens; granddaughter, Diane Rene’ Clendennen; great granddaughter, Abby Spiller; grandson, Cody Owens; best friend, Margaret Holland Saunders. Memorials may be made to the Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas.
