Alan was born on March 3, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas to Homer and Marie Cloud. He attended Pampa High School. Soon after high school, Alan began his career. He always worked in Industrial Construction and loved his work. Alan worked for several different companies through the years with his last job being with D.E. Rice Construction. He started working with D.E. Rice Construction at an entry level position and worked his way up to Vice President of the company. He worked for over 20 years with them and retired in 2015. Alan was a hard worker and was particular about his work. His work ethic and knowledge about each job was honorable.
He married Cel Henley on January 21, 2005. They loved each other and enjoyed spending time traveling together; especially after retirement. Alan enjoyed golfing and fishing. He even has his prize Peacock Bass hanging on display at his home. Alan also was an avid Texas Rangers fan, but enjoyed watching all baseball, no matter who was playing. He had a love for all genres of music and enjoyed going to different concerts. Alan was a handy and crafty person who was a perfectionist in everything he built. His motto was “If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right”.
Alan was known as “Boss” of the family. He was very supportive of his family and enjoyed following the kids and grandchildren at all of their events. Alan was “Pa” to his grandchildren and loved every minute of it. He started collecting baseball cards with his grandson, Maverick, but he got as much enjoyment out of it as his grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Guy Cloud, Steve Cloud, and Kenny Cloud; and an infant son, Kenneth Keith Cloud.
