Alfonso “Fonz” Vigil, 57 of Pampa passed away, Saturday October 27, 2018 at his home.
Local Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, officiating. Services in Pueblo, CO will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. Leander Church, 1402 E. 7th St., Pueblo, CO. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Alfonso was born February 9, 1961 in Pueblo, CO and graduated from East High School in 1979. He moved to Pampa in 1980 and on June 25, 1983 married Nancy King. Fonz worked at Arthur Brothers Construction, Munday Corporation, Celanese and was a maintenance supervisor for the TDCJ Jordan unit. He was known locally as “The Chili Man”, selling roasted Anaheim Chilis throughout the area. He enjoyed coaching soccer and staying active in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He devoted his time to family and friends, cracking jokes along the way. Fonz was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home; three daughters, Paula Vigil of Manitou Springs, CO, Desiree Vigil of Jacksonville, FL, and Valerie Vigil of Pampa; his father and mother, Nick and Leonor Sisneros, one sister, Rita Munoz and husband Ruben of Oak Lawn, IL; one brother, Derec Sisneros; five grandchildren, Lillianna Vigil, Isaiah Vigil, Elijah Vigil, Dominic Vigil and Ira Vigil-Smith; two uncles, Juan Vigil and wife Sonia of Pampa and Gilbert Vigil and wife Claudine of Pueblo, CO; one aunt, Ramona Vigil of Denver, CO; Antoinette Rendon of New Hartford, NY; three godchildren; Eugenia, Jamie, Norita and numerous other beloved relatives and friends.
