Ana Maria Miranda, 86, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, in Amarillo and is now in the presence of her Lord and Maker.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Pampa with Rev. Luis Lopez, officiating. Burial will follow in Chihuahua, Mexico at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whaley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Vigil will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2022, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Luis Lopez, officiating.
Ana Maria was born on July 26, 1936, in San Juan Bautista, Satevo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Emiliano and Eduvijes Miranda. She attended school in San Juan Bautista, Satevo and lived there for many years. On July 26, 1954, she married the love of her life, Margarito Miranda. The two had 8 children together and shared 13 years of marriage, before he proceeded herin death in 1967.
Ana Maria was a stay-at-home mother. Her priority was to raise her children and took her mom role very seriously. She did whatever it took to raise them. She moved to Pampa in 1991 to be closer to her children. Although she lived in Pampa, she loved to travel and visit her other children and their families, mainly in Amarillo, Fort Worth, and Chihuahua. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for many years and was involved in the group De Colores Corcillos and helped in various other groups. Every morning and night, she loved to say her prayers and read her Bible. She was very faithful. She prayed her rosary every night and prayed for all her family and friends.
In her spare time, she loved to garden, plant flowers, watch her telenovelas, crochet, shop, read, and write in her journals, where she wrote and shared about her dreams. She loved to dress up, spend time with her family, be photographed, and enjoyed a good home-cooked meal. Ana Maria was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her sidekick granddaughter, Flor Gonzalez.
Ana Maria is preceded by her parents, Emiliano Miranda and Eduvijes Guerrero; her mother-in-law, Secundina; her father-in-law, Paulo; her husband, Margarito Miranda; 7 siblings, Juan, Angel, Soledonio, Alberto, Alicia, Teresa, and Consuelo; one son, Saul Miranda; son-in-law, Martin Estrada; nephews and nieces Juanito, Lupe, Gabino, Victor, Raphaela, Loudres, and Filomeno; 2 grandchildren, Anita and Benjamin; and her best friend, Lala Soto.
She is survived by 7 children, Hector Miranda of Mexico, Ernestina Tarango and husband Armando of Pampa, Paulino Miranda and wife Dora of Mexico, Hilda Hernandez and husband Mike of Mexico, Gloria Estrada of Fort Worth, Secundina Martinez and husband Aurelio of Amarillo, Antonio Miranda and wife Susana of Amarillo; 29 grandchildren, Flor, Linda, Veronica, Armando Jr., Jesse, Bella, Jairo, Briana, Merari, Lusila, Antonio Jr., Margarito, Lili,
Yadira, Adriana, Paulino Jr., Margartio, Adali, Scotty, Alla, Bradley, Martiza, Sadie, Rubi, Yaeli, Cimoee, Jeisan, Hilda, Gloria; 56 great- grandchildren with 2 on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends at St. Vincent de Paul.
Ana Maria’s family would like to extend gratitude and the utmost appreciation to all Northwest Texas Hospital staff, especially those on the 4th floor, ICU, and RN Jessica.
The family suggests that memorials be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 810 W. 23rd Ave., Pampa, Texas, 79065.
