Ann Loter, 79, of Pampa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2021 in Amarillo with her family by her side.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ with Ian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be livestreamed through the funeral home website.
The family requests that face masks be worn for Ann's service.
Ann was born February 21, 1941 in Lockney to Melvin and Myrtle Annie Griffith. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1959 and went on to attend Lipperts Business School in Plainview. Ann married the love of her life, Lonnie, January 6, 1962 in Plainview. In 1965, they moved to Pampa to begin their family; Shannon was born in 1966 and Trent was born in 1969. Ann worked at The Medical/Surgical Clinic for several years before she became the director of Meals on Wheels, retiring in 1999. After retirement, they moved to Lake Texoma until 2019, when they returned to Pampa. She was a longtime member of Somerville Church of Christ and loved her church family dearly. Ann was strong in her Christian faith and always put others before herself. Over the years, Ann was involved and very supportive of Special Olympics and GCARC. She also was involved in Beta Sigma Phi, where she was named Woman of the Year in 1989. Ann’s hobbies included gardening, cooking, and decorating her home for the holidays.
Ann was a loving wife for over 59 years and the best mother to her children. She loved her family, and she will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Lisa Loter; sister and brother-in-law, Nora Bybee and Archie Bybee; sister, Rita Coats; nephew, Delvin Bybee; 3 brothers-in-law, Ronnie Loter, Jim Howell, and Bob Dowlen.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie of the home; a daughter, Shannon Loter of Pampa; a son, Trent Loter of Pampa; 3 sisters-in-law, Eloise Dowlen, Merilyn Howell, and Wetia Loter; brother-in-law, Charles Coats; 4 nieces, Debbie Stennett and husband Gary, Amy Chapman and husband Paul, Stacy Schrap and Sheryl Rigby; 7 nephews, Matt Coats and wife J.T., Kelly Loter, Keith Dowlen, Mike Dowlen, Glenn Dowlen, Barry Dowlen, and Lance Howell and wife Cindy; 14 great nieces, Stephanie, Shandra, Brandye, Hannah, Callie, Riley, Sophia, Ava, Shiloh, Bethany, McKenzie, Valerie, Casey, and Chelsea; 5 great nephews, Jason, Tucker, Josh, Ethan, and Knox.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Meals on Wheels, 302 E. Foster, Pampa, Texas 79065.
