Anne Campbell

March 10, 1930 — August 25, 2017

Anne Campbell, 87, of Pampa, died August 25, 2017 in Pampa.  Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.  Mrs. Campbell was born March 10, 1930 in Perryton to Clark and Effie Moseley. She was a 1948 graduate of Pampa High School and went on to graduate from Oklahoma A&M University. Anne married J.W. “Jim” Campbell on July 22, 1951 in Pampa; he passed away on January 31, 2003. She was involved in the 20th Century Cotillion Club for over 60 years, and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Anne has been a board member of the Opportunity Plan for many years; she received the Life Time Service award in 2014 from the Association Fundraising Professionals for her involvement. She enjoyed traveling, studying genealogy, and loved playing bridge with her friends, as she was in several bridge clubs. Anne was loved by many and will be missed.  Survivors include her son, Don Campbell and wife Sue of Pampa; daughter in law, Martha Campbell of Pampa; brother in law, Buzz Tarpley of Pampa; seven grandchildren, Brandon Campbell and wife Christy, Bill Campbell, Ben Campbell and wife Mayra, Kathryn Campbell, Elizabeth Day and husband Shon all of Pampa, Christopher Campbell of Dallas, and Victoria Campbell of Oklahoma City, four great grandchildren, Collin Campbell, Clark Campbell, Lillian Campbell, and Campbell Day; a niece, Carol Ray of Plano; a nephew John Tarpley and wife Shelli of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by two sons, William David “Bill” Campbell and Robert Dale “Bob” Campbell; and a sister, Jewel Tarpley. A special thank you to her wonderful caregivers; Bonita Cathey, Candace Kirby, Crystal Mercer, Caprice Mayhew, Karen Howell, Doris Stevens, Josh Mayhew, and Ginger Ferris.  Memorials may be made to the Opportunity Plan, P.O.
