Annie Talley Aufill, 98, of Pampa passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Aufill was born March 25, 1922 in Clarendon to James and Mattie Talley. Annie married Christ "Jim" Aufill on September 14, 1940 in Clarendon. He preceded her in death in 1991. She moved to Pampa in 1944 where she worked at the Marie Foundation for a few years. Later, Annie graduated from cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. When she grew tired of her customers complaining she became a dog groomer. They could not talk back but would periodically nip at you. Annie was a dog groomer for 13 years before retiring to take care of her family. She was a member at Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ. During her retirement she cared for her daughter and grandchildren.
Annie was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Pletcher and Mattie Norton and husband Larry both of Pampa; five grandchildren, Keith Norton and wife Carol, Kelly Pletcher, Misty Townson and husband Jimmy, and Christy Ogle and husband Danny, all of Pampa, and Mark Norton and wife Marlana of Lowell, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jimmy, Mayce, Liberty, Lilye, Gabriel, and Wakely.
The family would like to thank her Caregiver, Maria Copado, for taking care of Annie.
