Annie Mae Hollis, 88, of Canyon, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Chad Scarborough, Annie's grandson, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Annie was born on September 21, 1934 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Jessie Lee Bratton. She attended Pampa schools and later earned her LVN. Annie married Junior Hollis on September 6, 1952 in Portales, New Mexico. During her nursing career, Annie worked in several nursing homes and the Veteran Affairs Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1998.
Annie enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing cards, and dominoes. She loved all flowers and plants. Annie also enjoyed going to casinos with her husband, they're favorite was the River Wind Casino. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, especially around the holidays.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents; Jessie and Edrick Smith; her husband, Junior Hollis; four children, Donnie Hollis, Johnnie Hollis, Ronald Hollis, and Ronnie Joe Bush; one grandson, Jay Allen Scarborough; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her five children, Judy Martin and husband David of Canyon; Kay Portillo and husband Lupe of Pampa; Randy Hollis of Canyon, Janet Scarborough and husband Andy of Hurst, and Darla Pearson and husband Calvin of Logan, New Mexico; one sister, Betty Fry of Alabama; 10 grandchildren, D'Edra Jefferson, Roy Dee Martin, Mona Sergey, Melissa Portillo, Raquel Anguiano, Mindy Tindall, Chad Scarborough, Andi Linn Scarborough, Shae'La McKinley, and Mark Pearson; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
