Archie Zack “Zeke” Griffin, Jr., 89, of Pampa, passed away February 2, 2019 in White Deer.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Franklin Cemetery, in Franklin, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Zeke was born on November 14, 1929 in Luling to Georgia and Archie Zack Griffin, Sr. Zeke was a Pampa High School graduate of the class of ’48. As a proud Harvester, he was an outstanding football player. After graduating high school, he enrolled at Texas A & M, where he majored in petroleum engineering, and graduated in 1953.
Zeke was an Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. After his service, he moved to Houston where went to work for Dowell Schlumberger for over 20 years and later retired in 1979. In 1992, Zeke moved back to Pampa to care for his parents until their passing. In his last few years he spent a lot of his time with his nephew, Bob Griffin, and his wife, Christi.
Zeke was preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include his brother, Gary N. Griffin and wife Johnnie L.; two nephews, Lee Griffin and Bob Griffin and wife Christi; a great-niece, Katie Griffin Jackson; two great-nephews, Michael Griffin and Zach Griffin.
Zeke will available for viewing on Monday, February 4, 2019 and Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
