Arthur Paul Bowen, 64, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, in Pampa. Celebration of life services will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1657, with Commander Danny Martin, officiating, and at 6:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Bryan Guymon, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Bowen was born September 10, 1952 in Elmira, New York. Art has been a resident of Pampa for the last 6 years moving, from Eagle River, Alaska where he had resided for 23 years. Art married Gloria G. Purcell on April 29, 1972 in Victoriaville, California. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1993. He served in the Vietnam War and was stationed many places around the world. Art was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Boy Scouts, Elks Lodge in Alaska, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1657, and the American Legion. He loved to hunt, fish and do family genealogy. Art was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was willing to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Betty Bowen. Survivors include his wife, Gloria G. Bowen of the home; three daughters, Rebecca Jean Fernandes of Springfield, Virginia, Alma Marie Hebert of Navarre, Florida and Elizabeth Frawley Jamieson of Washington; two brothers, Lynn Bowen of St. Mary’s. Ohio and Leland Bowen of St. Cloud, Florida; a sister, Patricia Heathcoe of Lakeland, Florida; four grandchildren, Justice Hebert, Colleen Hebert, Sophia Fernandes and James Fernandes.
