Arthur E. Howard, 91, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2021 in Pampa.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Arthur was born on November 8, 1929 in Ulysses, Kansas to Arthur Lee and Ruby Lee Hampton Howard. He attended school in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School. Arthur later moved to Denver, where he spent most of his life. He worked as an electrical engineer on various space programs with Lockheed Martin. Arthur’s work took him all over the country and eventually overseas, where he worked on a solar powered system in Saudi Arabia. He married Delnora Fields in June of 1950, the mother of his children, and later married Beverly Adams in December of 1990. Delnora preceded him in death in April of 2010, and Beverly in September of 2017. Arthur enjoyed fishing, taking mountain drives, traveling, and most of all, tinkering. He loved to take apart everything and see how it worked and how he could make it better.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, John, Clifford, Kenneth, Raymond, Leroy, and Maybelle.
He is survived by his 6 children, Linda Lauper, Karen Smith, Donald Howard and wife Elizabeth, Gary Howard, and wife Joyce, Robert Howard, and Patrick Howard and wife Jennifer; 4 siblings, Bessie Smith, Mary Lou Martin, Ron Howard, and Lloyd Howard; 6 grandchildren, Robert, Anatole, Jennifer, Jessica, Christopher, and Pamela; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
