Barbara Jean Barrow, 77, of Borger and formerly of Skellytown, passed away July 15, 2018 in Borger.
Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Skellytown with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Barbara was born on May 15, 1941 in Granite, Oklahoma to Goldie and Marion Price. Barbara grew up and attended school in Stinnett. During grade school, she met her love of her life, Buck Barrow, and they would later marry in Clayton, New Mexico on June 6, 1959. They shared many great years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2010. Barbara was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown. Mrs. Barrow worked as a librarian for many years but she found greater pride being a homemaker to her husband and raising her children. She liked to garden and tend to all of her plants and flowers. Barbara also was known to be great cook and baker and would often help baking cakes and decorating those for various people in the community. But Barbara’s greatest highlight of her life was being a mother to six great sons who she loved greatly. Above all, she was a selfless lady who always put others before herself and would help anyone in need.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and by son, Kelly Barrow; two sisters, Pat Farley and Kayla Grandstaff; by two brothers, CJ Price and by Martin Price.
Her survivors include five sons, Kevin Barrow, Rainey Barrow and wife Sherry, Sam Barrow, all of Skellytown, Joe Barrow and wife Kristy of Lubbock, and Kane Barrow and wife Sharolyn of White Deer; her sister, Janis Edwards of Weatherford; by her aunt, Bobbie Jean Newgin and husband Orvil of Dumas; by 16 grandchildren and by 10 great-grandchildren; and by other extended family.
