Berta Hillman, 93, of White Deer passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2021 in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Sayre-Doxey Cemetery in Sayre, Oklahoma with Brother Alan Wilson, pastor at First Baptist Church of White Deer, offictiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Hillman was born January 10, 1928 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Ben and Carrie Miller West. Berta attended School in Sayre and married Glen Hillman on August 4, 1947 in Wheeler. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2008. She moved to White Deer in 1952 where she was a waitress, worked at Clint and Son’s, owned Hillman’s Laundry, and Hillman’s Quilting. Berta was an exceptional seamstress, loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in White Deer.
Berta was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Weatherly of White Deer and Fran Rankin and husband Jacob of Amarillo; a son, Dwayne Hillman and wife Teresa of Midland; two sisters, Paula Aston and Brenda McKibben both of Sayre, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
