Betty Louise Peeler passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Scott Futrell officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Betty was born March 25, 1945 in Wheeler, Texas to Alvin W. Irvin and Clara Childress Irvin where she was the only sister to four brothers. She attended various schools, graduating from Pampa High School in 1963. After graduation she worked at Wilson Bell Drugstore, Marie Foundation, and Pampa ISD as a teaching assistant until she retired to help with her grandchildren. She then returned to work as a school crossing guard, helping young people as they went to school.
Betty was a longtime member of the Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ in Pampa, Texas. She was under the care of Interim Hospice, and the family would like to express their gratitude to her nurses, Brenda, Evelyn, and Rene for their loving care.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Norman "Leon" Peeler and her three daughters, Kimberly Fry and husband Gaylon, Kathryn Wiggins and husband Bill, and Karen Hutcherson. She leaves behind four grandsons, Ryne Hutcherson, Seth Fry and his wife Sarah, Blake Fry, and Todd Fry as well as two granddaughters, Rani Hutcherson and Erin Wiggins. She had three great grandsons, Braylen, Caisen, and Tucker. She is also survived by two brothers, Eugene Irvin and Billy Dean Irvin. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joe Irvin and Calvin Irvin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Gerry Caylor, 2130 Charles, Pampa, Texas 79065; Texas Oncology, 1000 S. Coulter, Suite 100, Amarillo, TX 79106; or a charity of their choice.
