Betty Ridgeway Stribling

December 20, 1929 — February 3, 2025

Miami

Betty Ridgeway Stribling, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 in Early, Texas, at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, with her loving stepdaughter, Cindy Callas, and step-granddaughter, Teresa James, by her side. Betty's kind heart, infectious spirit, and deep love for life will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially the compassionate caregivers at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she spent her final years.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Miami Cemetery with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Born on December 20, 1929, to Joseph Oscar Logue and Lillie Mae Cook in Gordonville, Texas. Betty graduated from S & S Cons High School in 1946. Her lifelong dedication to caring for others led her to become a licensed vocational nurse in 1990. Betty's warmth and nurturing spirit made her a cherished presence in every community she was a part of.

In 2001, Betty married David Benjamin Stribling Sr., and together they created a life full of love and adventure in Miami, Texas. Their years together were marked by joyful travels, including trips to Eagles Nest, New Mexico, and Canton Lake in Oklahoma. They also found great happiness in attending Senior Citizen dances, where Betty's vibrant energy and love for life were evident to all. Betty was particularly fond of dancing and would often smile when recalling one of her favorite songs, Elvis Presley’s "Blue Suede Shoes."

A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Betty’s legacy extends far beyond her immediate family, as she embraced loved ones both by blood and marriage. She was a friend to many, always known for her wit, creativity, and love of art, animals, and, of course, laughter.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, David Benjamin Stribling Sr.; and her parents, Joseph Oscar Logue and Lillie Mae Cook.

She leaves behind many loved ones, friends and family, that will carry on the many memories of her presence.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the exceptional staff and nurses at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, as well as the caring team at Solara Hospice, who provided Betty with outstanding support in her final days. Betty's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Betty's memory.
