Betty Whitehead, 84, of Pampa, passed away, Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at home.
Private family services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Paul Nachtigall, pastor at Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website.
Mrs. Whitehead was born July 23, 1936 in Osage County, Oklahoma to T. C. and Carrie Killion Holmes. Betty graduated from Wildhorse School. She married Harilee Whitehead on October 11, 1976 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2000. Betty was a homemaker and a member of Highland Baptist Church. She loved collecting antiques and going to swap meets.
Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Vinson in 2002 and a son, Rickey Whitehead in 2017.
She is survived by four sons, Keith Mitchell and wife Rhonda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Darrel Mitchell and wife Kim of Duncan, Oklahoma, Phillip Whitehead, and Russell Whitehead; a daughter, Sharon Newrider: a brother, Dick Holmes and wife Virginia of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a sister, Virginia Monks of Longview; a sister-in-law, Phoebe Holmes of Hominy, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Shane Mitchell and wife Erin of Lexington Park, Maryland, Tyler Mitchell and wife Arrika of Amarillo; Jen Hinds of Keller, and Jeremy Vinson and wife Randi of Tulsa, Oklahoma, six great-grandchildren, Zander Vinson Nariah Vinson, Austin Mitchell, Ryleigh Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, and Ryan Mitchell.
