Billie Jane Snyder Lunsford, 67, of Miami, passed away on January 10, 2022 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Miami with Rev. Tom Stribling officiating. Cremation will follow after the service. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Billie was born November 6, 1954 in Canadian to James Hubert "Red" and Mary Consuelo Stanford Snyder. She and her sister Louise were raised in the Gem city "Blue Ridge" area until the 6th grade. They moved to Higgins Texas in 1968 where she graduated high school in 1973. After high school, she attended Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell, OK. On September 2, 1974, Billie married the love of her life of 47 years, Joe Lunsford. Billie and Joe have lived in Miami since 1974. Together they raised 2 children, Jodi and Levi. Billie had a gift for finance and accounting. With this knowledge, Billie worked several years for Locke Cattle Company, First State Bank of Miami, and Strib's Feed and Supply. She later was elected as Roberts County Treasure and served 20 years before her retirement. Billie had a strong Christian faith and a loving heart. Her hobbies include reading, sewing, and restoring old furniture. She loved to go feed and take care of the cows. She has always been a big supporter of athletics and events at Miami schools, even after her children had graduated. Billie was community minded as she served on several different boards such as Hemphill County Hospital, Abraham Memorial Nursing Home, and Roberts County Library Board. She loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl Willard and Lena Bell Snyder and Pearl and OW Stanford; her father, James H. Snyder; an aunt, Laura Lee; and Uncle, Jasper; her in-laws, JW and Joyce Lunsford; and 2 brothers-in-law, James Lunsford and Jerry Lunsford.

Billie is survived by her husband, Joe of the home; daughter, Jodi Lunsford Hall and husband Chase of Lubbock; and her favorite son, Levi Lunsford and wife Carol of Dimmitt; her mother, Mary Snyder of Higgins; a sister, Louise Landers and husband John of Higgins. She was known as "Mater" to her 7 wonderful grandchildren, Hunter Hall and wife Mackenzie, Hadleigh Hall, Haylen Hall, Gains Lunsford, Jack Lunsford, Sawyer Lunsford and Holden Hall; and 2 great grandkids, Crew and Max Hall; She is also survived by other family members, Possum and Gary Jahnel, Bud and Brenda Dickinson, Bob and Beverly Dickinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
