Billy Brown, 77, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2022 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Billy was born August 11, 1945 in Ada, Oklahoma to William and Ada Brown. He attended schools in Ada and finished up in Borger in 1963. Soon after high school, Billy was drafted in the US Army and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He married Nancy Jean Lam on June 7, 1969 in Pampa. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before she passed away on January 29, 2022. Billy worked for several companies through the years such as Phillips in Borger and Munday Contracting Maintenance, Inc. He spent most of his career as a welder with these companies and then was an independent contractor. He loved to weld and teach others, such as his two granddaughters. Billy spent many hours building ornamental iron project with Shyla. He loved his country and fellow veterans dearly and was lifetime member of VFW Post 1657. Some of Billy's hobbies include fishing, camping out, and spending time out at the ranch.
Billy never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He had a strong personality with very little filter and seemed to always share what was on his mind. He had a loving and caring heart for others and for his dog, Apache. Billy loved spending time with his family and loved being PawPaw to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Sue Underwood; a brother-in-law, Darrell Wayne Underwood; son-in-law, Paul Woodworth; and a nephew, David Luedecke.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Harvin and husband Jack of Borger, Shyla Rush and husband Joe of Pampa, and Jeanne Woodworth of Amarillo; a son, James Brown of Pampa; four grandchildren, Rebecca Coffey and husband Seth, Kristina Brown, Joshua Harvin, and Kristen Harvin and fiancée Chaze; 5 great grandchildren, Eli Middlebrook, Nohlan Coffey, Scarlett Morrison, Khira Morris, and Trace Donham; nephews, Bill Luedecke, Darren Underwood and Wesley Underwood; niece, Mechelle Moon; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Abbott and husband Doug and Mary Underwood; numerous cousins; extended family, Laura Yates, Robin Yates, Chyna Hicks, Greg and Marsha Poole, Dallon Poole, and Holland Poole.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Megan Mojica from Interim Hospice for her care for Billy.
