Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church with, Rev. Mark Lang, rector, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Bob Rogers was born to JR and Rubye Rogers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he lived with his family until moving to Pampa. He loved Pampa and it was home to him.  Bob graduated from Pampa High School and attended Texas Tech University.  He was proud of his country and his service in the US Army, where he served in the Korean conflict, later receiving his honorable discharge; he continued serving in the Army reserves and Air Force reserves.

Bob was a licensed and certified dental technician for over 60 years, he owned Rogers Dental Laboratory until his retirement a year ago.  He left an imprint of his kind soul with everyone he met.  Bob was an amazing husband, father and man; he was passionate about life and got pleasure from the little things.  As his grandson, Brendon remarks “His disability was never a hindrance to his outlook on life.  He got up every day without complaint and went to work.” His smile was radiant and filled your heart; he loved the Lord and included daily devotions in each day.  He was married to Nelda Smart Rogers. He was preceded by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda Smart Rogers of the home; three daughters, Cindy Holt and husband Randy of Pampa, Debbie Guffey and husband Daryl of Bentonville, AR, and Sheri Cross and husband Deven of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Brendon Padilla and wife Leah, Valerie Hill and husband Brandon, Saige Cross and wife Maisie, Beck Cross, and Tatum Cross; seven great-grandchildren, Rhett Hill, Brant Hill, Jarren Hill, Emme Hill, Ava Padilla, and Nash Padilla; two sisters, Beverly Klein and Marcia Green; brother, Ronnie Rogers.

Special thanks to the VA Hospital in Amarillo, Pampa Nursing Center, and Interim Hospice for their compassion, love, and care.
