Buddy Patton, 89, of Pampa, passed away on December 30, 2024, at his home.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rick Pearson, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. 

Buddy was born on August 26, 1935, in Pampa to Thomas “Bud” and Velma Patton. He grew up and graduated from school in Pampa. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he came back to Pampa where he would help with the family business, Patton & Patton Frac Tanks following the passing of his father. Buddy was a hard-working man who was also a talented commercial truck operator as well. He helped own and operate the family business until his retirement in 1998.

Buddy would marry the love of his life, Launa Townsend in Spring Creek in 1966, and they shared over 58 years before his passing. As a retired man, he loved to keep his yard and property immaculate. He also loved woodworking, and in his younger days, he enjoyed riding ATV’s and dune buggies. Buddy was a compassionate man who had a heart of gold, had a terrific sense of humor, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Jean Patton.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Launa Patton of the home; three daughters, Angie Helton and husband Justin of Allison, TX, Amy McDowell and husband Danny of New Mexico, and Kathy Drury of Virginia; two sons, Buddy Patton, Jr. and wife Lisa of Arizona, and Michael Davenport of Oregon; nine grandchildren, Cody Fedric and wife Jessica of Amarillo, Coby Fedric of Pampa, Cory Johnson and wife Shantell of Del City, OK, Joshua Archibald and wife Sarai of Pampa, Jordan Archibald and wife Zayda of Washington, Leslie Miramontes and husband Daven of Amarillo, Jaden McDowell of New Mexico, Melissa Balmer and husband Keith of Virginia, and Josh McFall of Virginia; greatgrandchildren, Cameron Johnson, JT Archibald, Brooks Archibald, Daxton Miramontes, Lainie Miramontes, Austin Martinez, Alessia Balmer, Ty Balmer, and Emily McFall; and other extended family.
